The use of current collaboration technology and its application in group work.

When using the current collaboration technologies such as Google Docs, Wikis, Facebook, Twitter, Text, Instant Message, LinkedIn, Google Wave and using each one’s applications in-group work. Businesses can use each technology and apply it everyday in many different ways.

Google Doc is used to edit and create presentations, when a project is being developed the group can be any where around the world and still work on the project, while chatting. Wikis can be used to answer questions about a company, but also write a complete bio about the company. Facebook is used by over 500 million people so businesses today have started to use this social network to see what people think of the company, of its products, it can promote on its page, and network to more people. Twitter was embraced by businesses as a marketing tool, but many of these businesses announced that Twitter helped the company make $3 million since 2007 from customers who followed its links to make purchases. Text and Instant message are used to contact employers, co-workers, and customers. They can also be used to conduct interviewers, which become more convenient to the employer and job seeker. LinkedIn is used to gain connections and post jobs. Finally, Google Wave can be used as a live chat inside a business; so an employee won’t have to chase down someone they care to speak with.

In concluding each application can be used in a business to network, communicate, work on projects even if you’re in different parts of the world, promote, and post jobs. Also, every one of the collaboration can be applied to in-group work to do all the things stated above.
